Yuasa Model 550-040, 6 Horizontal/Vertical Rotary Table, Made in Japan
Depending on the overall cost. It will always be exactly what it costs. Used Yuasa rotary table, made in Japan. Table is still silky smooth in its operation and rotates the full 360 degrees without any binding in the table or dial. Center of table accepts MT2 tooling. Table locks work as they should. This size is perfect for smaller mills (even many benchtop mills) and is portable by one person as opposed to needing a hoist to lift it onto the table. Since almost all other import brands copied the Yuasa, many of their parts fit it. For example, indexing plates meant for an HV-6 rotary table (Vertex, Phase II, Grizzly, etc) also fit this table. The tailstocks are also direct copies of the Yuasa, so you can pick one of those up for a fraction of the cost of one direct from Yuasa. Bought this to keep with my other Yuasa 550-040 for spare parts, but they’ve been making these for so long that they’ve changed some of the parts just slightly enough that they don’t fit the older models. Again, the table works perfectly fine, it’s just excess to my needs. Compare this table, even in its used condition, to the new junk Yuasa copies Grizzly offers from India and you’ll see that there’s no comparison.
