You set the laser close to the left right alignment, then set the laser eye at the other end you want to align to and hit the auto align button on the remote and the machine will adjust to where the laser eye is placed. If the laser is in horizontal or sloped mode and is ever bumped or moved by the wind, the machine pauses, turns the laser beam off, and re-aligns. If it bumped really far that it is out of the slope range for realigning, it will turn off the laser beam and flash an error indicator so you never accidentally rely on a misaligned laser. The only difference is the A12 has a different battery and the top is shaped differently. The laser and all accessories are fully functional. Any Cosmetic flaws are noted below. Rotating laser- The rotating laser had some writing on it which has been scraped off. You can see where is was scraped off (see pictures). The case had some writing on it which has been scraped off. Case- One of the case latches was broken. I have glued it back on and filled the adjacent void with epoxy. The epoxy repair has held up for several months. Case- a corner of the case was broken which could allow dust to enter. It has been repaired with epoxy so dist doesn’t have a place to enter.
